I am happy that my tweets using hash-tag #Tribute2MohdRafi were able to trend Mohd Rafi Sahab , on news.Google.com immediately, as ibnlive.com & ndtv.com posted articles here is the link

Though, I used to sing More of Manna Dey & Kishore Kumar  in Childhood, but as I grew as a singer, I started attempting Mohd Rafi Sahab, on stage, this had something to do with a friend Anil Kumar Jain , (check him out he still sings, and I am happy to know this) who used to sing Tu Kahan Ye Bata( ALWAYS ON A GIG)  a 2nd Year Civil Engineering Student from Malviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur now (MNIT) . Anil was THE LEAD SINGER and part of a Band, from MREC, Jaipur, which had Vijay Sharma (nephew of my landlord Late Khajan Singh Sharma), a Brilliant Electronics Engineering student from MREC , he played the drums and Hawain  guitar(Latest News he is in Gurgaon), Anuj Mathur a civil engineer

The two songs which I always remember when I remember Mohd Rafi are

1 Tu Kahan Ye Bata Is Nashili Raat Mein from Tere Ghar ke Saamne ( Dir Vijay Anand 1963)
and
2 Jaag Dil-e-Deewana The Handsome Feroz Khan, the Spoilt Son of a principled Ashok Kumar,
Crooning a Mushy Romantic song Jaag Dil-e-Deewana Rut Jaagi Wasl-e-Yaar ki, from Oonche Log.

Deewana Mastana Hua Dil (1960) from Bombai Ka Babu the song , where Asha Tai ( Asha Bhonsle ) has used here typical singing style , using here naughty inflection, when she sings "dee waa naa " as though she was showing here 32 teeth and saying cheese.

If you noticed , all the above songs have echo effect in vocals, they sound as though it is being sung in an empty room with echo.

The Songs above were never sung by me in public but in private mehfils, birthday parties and with University friends.

The songs regularly performed by me on stage are

1 Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki Dulari (1949) The
2 Madhubhan Mein Radhika Nache Re  from Kohinoor (1960)
